We also offer a wide selection of primary care medical services and cosmetic medical services.
We have the most comprehensive travel health clinic in San Francisco with the comfort and attention to detail you have come to expect from Recharge Spa. Your personalized travel health services include:
-
A written personalized health protection plan - based on an understanding of your personal health needs, a review of your travel itinerary, and the most current health information about your destinations.
-
A personal travel health kit - that contains medicines you might not be able to get at your destinations (i.e., medicines to treat traveler’s diarrhea, food poisoning, etc.)
-
Medicines - for you to take before you leave to prevent infection against, e.g., malaria (prophylaxis)
-
Vaccines - and booster vaccines we recommend based on your specific travel itinerary and health history.
-
Healthcare resources at destinations - A list of doctors and clinics at your destinations that know about issues related to international traveler health and can chaperone your care.
-
Post-travel care - This is critical! Many tropical and exotic infections can lay dormant for weeks or even years before they cause health problems. In a follow-up exam, you receive tests targeted to infections that you might have been exposed to during your voyage.
-
Treatment for exotic and tropical infections - In the event that you contract an illness during your travels, we can provide treatment and referrals to top specialists in the area.
International connections and current health information
We are connected, so you are connected, to the most current travel health resources in the world. Our clinic is part of the International Society for Travel Medicine. We use Geosentinel, the world’s premier disease outbreak early detection network. We have direct communication with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention and ready access to travel medicine doctors around the world. Our staff remains informed about travel medicine concerns by frequently reviewing health issues affecting travelers and the current health status in common and uncommon travel destinations.
You get all of this advanced medicine in the tranquil setting of Recharge Spa with all the personal attention you expect from us.
Appointments for travel health must be made at least 48 hours in advance. Some vaccines and medications should be given up to 2 weeks before you travel, so it is better to visit us as soon as you know you are traveling.
To provide you with the best possible care, we will need to know the details of your travel, including:
- Your health history, current medications, and vaccine history
- Dates of your travel
- Is your travel for pleasure, business, or humanitarian service?
- Destination towns and cities
- Modes of travel (plane, cruise ship, small boat, train, car, subways)
- Accommodations (city hotel, private homes, tents, small rural guesthouses)
- Travel events (swimming, fishing, hiking, city walking, mountain climbing)

The total cost of your vaccines varies based on which vaccines you need. We have a complete price list and can review the prices with you before you make a decision. We always use the highest quality vaccines, and we know that these are not necessarily the most expensive vaccines. This enables us to keep our overall vaccine costs low.
An example: You need two vaccines. One has a generic version that is just as effective as the name brand vaccine. We will use the lower cost vaccine. Say, however, that the second vaccine you need has a new version that protects against a wider range of a particular virus type. Although that vaccine might be more expensive, we will use the newer version that gives you better protection. In the end it balances out -- low cost for some vaccines, a bit higher for others, and you get the best possible protection.
